What does acupuncture do?

Acupuncture can provide pain relief, support injury recovery, and improve your health and well-being. It is a healing system that began over 4,000 years ago and affects health at the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. While acupuncture can be used to address a long list of symptoms and conditions, it is part of a sophisticated system for self empowerment.

The following is a list of symptoms and conditions that can be addressed by Star North-Jackie Kook Acupuncture. It is not an exhaustive list, but hopefully gives you an idea of how you can benefit from working with Jackie. This list is not a claim or promise to cure diagnosed medical conditions. This list simply states what individuals complain of or have as medical diagnoses and have experienced relief or positive change upon receiving regular acupuncture.

private sessions with Jackie

Sessions start with listening to what brings you in that day. Based on the elements of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jackie asks many questions related to your health and personal history. The questions are often asked while a physical exam is done to assess restricted or painful areas; and observe your movement, breathing, tongue, and your pulse. Then, the best fitting modality will be chosen to address your needs on that day, which can include any of the following:

  • Acupuncture

  • Cupping

  • Moxibustion

  • Amma Therapy or Tui Na

  • Liniments, Lotions, or Essential Oils

  • Lifestyle, Dietary, and/or Exercise recommendations

private session rates

All rates are for a single session (except for the 3 pack), which typically runs from 60-75 minutes. We offer a self-selected, sliding scale. While we do not accept insurance, we can provide a superbill and receipt to be submitted for reimbursement from insurance and workman’s compensation. All sessions receive the same services regardless of what you choose to pay.

Thriving: $175 - Current rate
Supported: $150 - If the current rate isn’t practical for you at this moment.
Equitable: $85-$100 - If you’re breaking even, however you define that.

3-Pack: $435 - Three, 60-minute acupuncture sessions. A package is motivation for you to commit to a treatment plan and to take advantage of the cumulative nature of acupuncture. Also, this is acknowledgement that you are not in need of fixes, but your well-being takes a commitment to yourself—and in this case—with the aid of another person you trust. Committing to a plan is efficient and energizing. It eliminates extra mental work and gives you accountability.

These offerings are as of December 2024. Rates are updated seasonally.

Cancellations or appointment changes must be made 24 hours prior to appointment time, otherwise it is considered a late cancellation. Late cancellations require payment of a full session or the forfeiture of session if a package as been purchased.
